I hope everyone is safe and healthy during these times of uncertainty. I will be providing regular communication throughout the summer months as our plans may change often due to new recommended guidelines by CDC or the county public health department. As we are uncertain what the State and Local government officials will require of us to open up our schools next year, PRUSD is committed to working with other school districts to open up this August. School operations will be determined per our local public health official and County Superintendent of Schools. The uncertainty is causing teachers to plan both for traditional school and distance learning. If distance learning is still required, it will be provided primarily through a digital platform with prerecorded or live direct instruction. Daily interaction will be required for continuous growth and achievement with their assigned teacher. Students will be held accountable through graded assignments and assessed regularly. The district is working on a reopen plan” that will address not only the instructional delivery, but also cleaning protocol, safety measures, transportation plans, and facilities management that comply with CDC guidelines if we were to open up on August 18th. I intended to provide a more definite answer for you today, but there are too many variables and unknown factors to make that decision. I will send you updates as I receive them. .
